Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 June 2026

These terms govern your use of the QuietMerge GitHub App and related services ("the Service"). By installing or using the Service you agree to them. Questions: hello@quietmerge.dev.

What the Service does

QuietMerge reviews Terraform and OpenTofu dependency-update pull requests on the repositories you install it on. It verifies them using a terraform plan that runs in your own CI, posts a plain-English verdict, and — where you have opted in — automatically merges pull requests that are provably no-ops.

Availability and pricing

The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and may introduce paid plans in future. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.

Provided "as is"

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Verdicts are advisory and automated. You remain responsible for your own infrastructure, your CI configuration, and any changes merged into your repositories.

Auto-merge

Auto-merge is off by default and applies only to repositories where you have explicitly enabled it. Only deterministic no-op dependency bumps are auto-merged; AI-assisted verdicts are never merged automatically and always wait for a human. You are responsible for reviewing your auto-merge settings and branch protection rules.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service: do not attempt to disrupt it, reverse its access controls, forge verification data, or use it on repositories you are not authorised to administer.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuietMerge is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from merges, build outcomes, downtime, or decisions made on the basis of a verdict. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied is to stop using the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change when we do.
